Approach to treatment

A lung condition starts with listening: when the cough or breathlessness began, whether it is worse with effort or at night, and what makes it better or worse. Then listening to the lungs and, when needed, lung tests, imaging and blood tests.

A test result or a CT report alone is not a diagnosis. Every result is read together with your symptoms and examination, and explained in plain words.

Treating a long-term lung condition does not end with one prescription. The result depends on taking the medicine correctly, using the inhaler correctly and knowing the warning signs. The aim is to control symptoms and have fewer attacks.
